Our brief for this project was clear.
We want a range that will ‘Pack a Punch’ on shelf and increase our sales year on year!
Other objectives to achieve:
- a more premium look and feel
- portray key messages clearly
- stand out in the category
- attract a wider audience
- Packaging design
- Photography & Illustration
- Tone of voice
- Messaging
As part of the brief we were asked to maintain the same packaging shape and colour ways as per the previous design but to deliver a stronger footprint in store we incorporated more saturated colour tones with heavier weighted typography.
We also used this to double down on the handmade aspect of the product by use of a hand script font for the variant call out on front of pack - clear and large for easy messaging (and impulse purchasing).
With Lír’s sustainable approach to packaging it meant there was no window to the product and therefore no need for environmentally damaging plastic which meant we could really leverage the use of photography to show off the eggs.
For the product shots we wanted to create an interesting composition that would intrigue and attract the customer by creating a composition that was a bit different like showing the inside of the egg as the backdrop to the front of the egg itself along with the truffles contained inside.
To achieve the desired premium look and feel, a Metallic Hot Foil were used for the Lír brand identity. This was further enhanced with a combination of matt and gloss finishes to achieve a memorable tactile feel whether giving or receiving this Easter.
We used the back of pack as an opportunity to further drive the motivation of the customer to buy into this range as a gifting occasion and a chance to make it truly personal with a loving ‘From me to you’ note for that someone special !
Thanks for all the work that went into this.
We're delighted with the final result!
